Configuring: Replace Empty Values
Select one or more fields in which you want the empty values to be replaced. The resulting dataset will contain no empty values, each will be filled with either the following data value, or the previous data value, as selected.
Worked example:Replace empty values
Steps to configure
-
Select fields: Select the fields you would like to fill. This is configured separately for continuous and discrete fields.
-
Execute: The null values will be filled, modifying the current dataset.
Step 1: Select fields
Select the fields you would like to fill with the previous or next value. This step needs to be completed for both continuous fields and discrete fields.
-
All the fields selected will be filled with the selected Replace Value option. Select the valued required from the drop down lost.
-
This means that you can't set one field to the previous value and the next field to the next value in the same operation.
-
-
Default: All fields are placed in the available window.
-
Minimum configuration: At least one field has to be selected and a selection must be made for the [Replace Value] option.
Step 2: Execute
The dataset is modified with the nulls being replaced by the selected type of value. Where there is no previous or next value, as is the case for the first or last row, the null values will remain null.
